Eric Jackowitz
Eric Jackowitz is a Miami-born musician-turned-filmmaker whose creative journey began behind a drum kit. After drumming through childhood, Berklee College of Music, and performances with artists like George Clinton, Blake Mills, and Nick Waterhouse, Eric co-founded the bands The Cooties and Wolves of Glendale. His transition to filmmaking began in 2018, directing music videos for his band Cape Weather, which ultimately led to his debut short film, The Seeing Eye Dog Who Saw Too Much.
Influenced by Dario Argento, John Carpenter, Quentin Tarantino, and Spike Jonze, Eric’s work blends music, humor, and genre filmmaking into a style that is as rhythmic as it is cinematic. Like Carpenter, he edits and scores his own films, ensuring his singular creative voice carries through every frame. His goal is simple: to create films that immerse, entertain, and stay with audiences long after the credits roll.
Colton Mastro
Born and raised in Arizona, Colton Mastros’ love for film began long before stepping onto a set. Every Saturday night, his grandmother would take him to the movies—sneaking in a can of Pepsi and a Ziploc bag of popcorn—then insist he explain why he did or didn’t like the film afterward. Those post-movie conversations became the foundation of his appreciation for storytelling, character, and audience experience.
After earning two degrees in Business Management and Marketing, he went on to study filmmaking at the UCLA School of Theater, Film, and Television, where he graduated from the Professional Program.
Blending a creative sensibility with a strong business foundation, he has since produced twelve feature-length and short films, with projects screening at 43 film festivals (and counting) and earning numerous awards along the way. In addition to producing, he has written and directed select projects, further shaping his voice as a filmmaker.
He continues to focus on character-driven, visually distinct stories, bringing both passion and precision to every stage of the filmmaking process.
Sono Bloccato is the creative partnership of Eric Jackowitz and Colton Mastro, born out of a shared love of bold genre storytelling and fearless collaboration. Their relationship began in 2021, when Colton wrote and starred in the short film Delivery and invited Eric to co-direct. The film marked the start of a creative shorthand that would define their work together, premiering at the Cleveland International Film Festival and earning the Audience Award at the Phoenix Film Festival, along with Best Directors at WorldFest Houston International Film Festival.
After several years of parallel creative growth, Eric tapped Colton to produce The Seeing Eye Dog Who Saw Too Much, leading to the formation of Sono Bloccato, a creative label dedicated to strange, singular, genre-driven projects.
